The DJs who brought you ELECTROPICAL are back with a pair of great gigs in August and September.
“Many of you have asked me when would I do an African music night, like the good old days of Afrodisia at the ANZA,” Marc says. “Well, I finally convinced DJ Tobu Ley to come out of retirement and come and spin some Soukous and N’Dombolo like it’s 1990! It’s been 15 years since we played together!” Full gig details here.
And join DJ Michael Laycock (Electropical) and guest DJ Bassos Rancheros on Saturday, September 19 for the fourth edition of Worldbeat Sessions, a new night of global grooves designed for the dance floor.
When he isn’t travelling the world seeking spiritual meaning through breakfast foods, Bassos is sharing the stage with DJ/producers like Quantic and Nickodemus. And he’s a frequent flyer at festivals like Bass Coast. Full gig details here.
Both events happen around 10 pm (when the play ends next door) at the Backstage Lounge, 1585 Johnston St, Granville Island. Groups are always welcome!
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and see you on the dance floor!
